It was warm, warm as in temperatures in the forties and fifties F., so I thought I'd get to the barn and ride Dancer a lot. Instead, all the tremendous amount of snow melted, the humidity soared, and my sinuses (which had been pretty infected, requiring an antibiotic last month), got horribly inflamed. I was in bed four days with my eyes nearly swollen shut, and my head pounding with sinus headaches! I had to start back on the Flonase I was prescribed last month, and it didn't really take effect till today. Major suckage.
Of course, just for added fun, my period decided to show up, with tremendous cramps and a migraine. This did NOT help matters.
I wanted to have fun this week. I had it all planned out. I could barely make it out to buy groceries and get my prescriptions.

It was cold today, but not as cold as yesterday! It was very sunny out too, which only makes it seem more cruel. Grr... but it's supposed to warm up over the weekend. :)
Tuesday, my sister was in town and we went to the mall and to the Cheesecake Factory. We always end up eating at the Cheesecake Factory because my sister loves their grilled salmon with steamed spinach (ew!!!). I had the smaller sized Bistro Shrimp pasta, which is supposed to be a very caloric dish; but I always get the smaller serving and I can't ever finish that, anyhow!
Then we went shopping. I got a Lancome lipstick and gloss, which came with a free gift. Also a Tarte Amazonian Clay blush and Provocateur Shimmering powder. The Tarte things were so new, they hadn't been unpacked! The Sephora clerks know me by name and were very nice, bringing the testers out and letting me play with the brand new goodies.
Today I had a dental appointment for a cleaning, check-up, and X-rays. My dentist has been my dentist since I was 16-- I don't want to think how long that is! Anyway, I didn't have any cavities. :) I then went to the grocery store and got the stuff for a taco-type casserole for supper (very good). The store I went to has baked goods from several of the best bakeries in town, so I also splurged on a yummy-looking chocolate cupcake and a raspberry muffin, which I'm saving for breakfast. The cupcake, however, is calling my name now!

Dancer is such a wonderful horse! I've been trying to get out to the barn at least twice a week, but during the heat, it's best to ride in the early morning and I am NOT a morning person! Once I get there, though, I always have such a good time. Everyone's friendly and there's not a lot of Drama Queens the way there was at the Other Barn (not the barn Tiki lived at, the other barn I took lessons at). And Dancer...
Such a wonderful boy! I never thought about having a grey horse; I always liked bays. So what did I end up with??? LOL! It's a pain because he loves to sleep with his head in his pee, but then as Anne (trainer) says, "All horses are dirty". It forces me to experiment with various spot-cleaners, though.
In other news, my sister's been driving me crazy with a family matter involving our brother. It's been incredibly stressful and I finally pointed out to her she's been obsessed with it and she needed to do what was possible and then DROP it. I mean, she was calling me six or seven--or even more--times a day.
I did go to the State Fair with her, though, and that was fun. Over 60 foods on a stick, plus the famous (infamous?) Krispy Kreme cheeseburger, which I did NOT try. :D I never knew how susceptible my sister was to the sales pitches of the various vendors... she would be as if hypnotized by the shpiel. Honestly. She watched the one for the hand-powered food processor/grinder/grater twice in a row, which amazed me. Even more amazing, she almost bought one!
Finally got some cool weather again tonight. The cats and I are enjoying it very much.
